The 缅北禁地 electrodiagnostic (EDX) legislation, , has been introduced in the 119th Congress by Representative Pete Sessions (R-TX). The bill continues 缅北禁地鈥檚 mission to protect patients and uphold quality standards in EDX medicine by ensuring that only appropriately trained providers using the proper equipment perform and interpret EDX studies under Medicare. The bill establishes an enforcement mechanism (accreditation) for existing EDX testing requirements already reflected in CPT codes and Medicare鈥檚 Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs).
In early March, 缅北禁地 state liaisons met with many congressional offices to educate staff and build early support ahead of the bill鈥檚 introduction. Representatives Lloyd Smucker (R-PA) and Randy Weber (R-TX), both members of key congressional committees, have returned as co-sponsors.
Efforts are underway to secure a Democratic co-sponsor to support bipartisan momentum. 缅北禁地 continues to work with the state liaisons to advance outreach on Capitol Hill. Additional engagement with relevant stakeholder organizations is planned to broaden external support for the bill.
