The Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Arizona offers a comprehensive, one-year training program designed to provide fellows with in-depth exposure to a broad spectrum of neuromuscular neurology, including both the initial diagnosis and long-term management of complex and uncommon neuromuscular disorders.

Key Program Highlights:

• Broad Clinical Exposure: Fellows will gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of neuromuscular diseases, including but not limited to, peripheral neuropathies, myopathies, motor neuron diseases, and neuromuscular junction disorders.

• Advanced EMG Training: Fellows will receive comprehensive hands-on and didactic training early in fellowship in all aspects of electromyography (EMG) studies, allowing them to rapidly gain independence as well as to advance rapidly to performing complex studies, including those in the hospital and ICU environments. The program emphasizes the integration of EMG findings with clinical presentation to refine diagnostic accuracy.

• Consultative Experience: Fellows will have the opportunity to consult on complex hospitalized patients with neuromuscular disorders, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of specialists in a state-of-the-art clinical setting.

• Weekly Neuromuscular Conferences: Fellows actively participate in weekly neuromuscular conferences, where they will present cases, engage in collaborative discussions, and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of neuromuscular medicine.

Throughout the year, fellows will work alongside dedicated faculty in neurology and neuromuscular medicine, developing the clinical, diagnostic, and research skills necessary to become leaders in the field. This fellowship prepares physicians for careers in both academic and clinical neuromuscular medicine.
