One-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship that provides comprehensive training to build clinical knowledge of the basic science, electrophysiology and pathology of neuromuscular disorders (peripheral nerves, muscles, neuromuscular junction and motor neuron conditions). Fellows will develop skills to evaluate and manage a variety of inherited and acquired neuromuscular disorders in adults and children. Training will combined outpatient and inpatient clinical exposure, performing and interpreting muscle and nerve biopsies, neuromuscular ultrasound, and electrodiagnostic studies, Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) and Electromyography (EMG). Fellows work regularly with 6 neuromuscular faculty members with varied interests and breadth of the clinical and research expertise. Multiple weekly subspecialties clinic will provide exposure to different neuromuscular conditions including ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic, Muscular Dystrophy Clinic, Myasthenia Gravis Clinic.
Upon successfully completing this fellowship, trainees are eligible to sit for the Neuromuscular Medicine subspecialty boards (ABPN), and the EMG boards (ABEM).
